A number of family friendly bike rides are available at Halfway in the Crychan forest, about 15 minutes drive from Llandovery, this area has an extensive network of paths and bike ride routes which will keep you occupied all day.
Cwm Rhaeadr is a quick and fun red run which only takes and hour but will have you shouting for joy by the end of it. The village of Cilycwm has a great little pub, the Nueadd Fawr which does good food.
Brechfa forest offers some wonderful mountain bike rides, from a very challenging black run, a wild red run which does get the adrenalin pumping to a fun blue and green run. The pub in the village of Abergorlech offers a great welcome to mountain bikers.
Coed Trallwn is a privately owned mountain bike trail, with cafe which is open during the summer months. It offers a fun mix of black, red and blue runs and the homemade cakes and soups are great.
Usk Reservoir offers a gentle biking and walking opportunity, this green trail follows the edge of the reservoir with undulating tracks.
Further away is the Afan valley – this area offers extensive and challenging mountain bike rides for the more serious rider.
